Welcome!
from the entire staff
at the
Visitor Center
"find the lake and you've found the Visitor Center"
The Concept:
Eastman was developed in the nineteen seventies by Controlled
Environment Corporation, led by Emil Hanslin,
Dartmouth College,
Chubb Life America, and
the Society for the Protection of
New
Hampshire
Forests. Their goal and challenge, to create a
living, vibrant community around a lake with a host of recreational
amenities available to all owners, existing in harmony with and while
protecting the lake, streams, woodlands and animal habitats.
Planned as a four season recreational
community
for academics, professionals and executives, Eastman is now home to
several
hundred year-round residents including empty nesters, retirees, and
younger families working in the area and hundreds of vacation home
owners who enjoy the Eastman environment as their schedules allow.
Today, the community has a wonderful
balance
of year-round and second home residents, all enjoying the benefits of
our
low
tax structure.
You don't have to drive for hours on winding
back
roads to enjoy country living at Eastman. We are located
just off Interstate 89 (Exit 13 in Grantham), providing ready access to
the many attractions and services of the New Hampshire / Vermont areas.
It's an easy drive to the White Mountains, the Maine/New Hampshire
seacoast,
and Boston is only two hours away.
What does Eastman have to offer?
"We hope you'll take the time to
learn more about Eastman,
our recreational amenities and
the warm sense of community."
